about

WWMD stands for "What Would Monk Do?". I wrote this melody in 2019. When 2020 hit lebanon, hell broke loose. The economic situation brought a lot of misery, and subsequently a lot of suicides. I wrote the words to this song after being told that we had to cancel a show one night because a man had committed suicide at the entrance of the theater.

lyrics

Honestly I've found that you don't care
That you don't care to acknowledge
The situation that we're all in
Honestly I've found that you don't
That you don't see our lie is done
Our lie is done since tomorrow
This alienation that we all live
All it does is murder today

Today a man, a quiet man, an older man, a poor old
Man said that he's had enough
Took his gun, loaded it, carried it
Put it against his head, and shot at himself

But you don't see our lie done
Our lie is done since tomorrow
This gratification that we all chase
All it brings is sadness our way

The man I told you about had a tree
That said he's free.
I know you don't wanna look at it.
You'd rather tell me you know: the man's a sinner
Heaven, there's no heaven
For those people who feel that it's necessary to get out.

Have you ever asked yourself, why they couldn't take it?
Why they couldn't stand being on board no more
You don't wanna look at it, you don't wanna use your heart
To justify that they could not afford a bucket of fish.

Tell me what you do all those Fridays at noon,
All these Sundays at morning when your face turns to blue
Tryin' to figure out the aggravation
Of a life that's not important to celebrate

Stupid is the man who thinks he knows
Broken is the heart of the nation
The recommendation that we should take
Honestly, there's got to be change!
